2019 Shaganappi Community Clean-up

September 22 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Each year, the City of Calgary teams up with local community associations to help residents get rid of unwanted household items and property waste. More about the from the City of Calgary is found here: Community Cleanups

The organized Community Cleanup events save residents a trip to the landfill for items that do not fit in their waste and recycling carts or for residents who do not have cart service. This service is free of charge to all Calgarians, and relies on volunteers from your local community and association to apply for and host the event.

If you are interested to volunteer, please contact karenmkryzan@shaw.ca

If you are looking to take advantage of the community clean-up, you can do so by leaving the acceptable items in your alleyway for our volunteers to pick-up, or you can drop off the acceptable items at the Barbara Mitchell Center (1731 29 Street SW). For items left in the alley, clearly mark any back alley treasures you may want to keep (old lumber, paving stones, etc.) to avoid them being taken in error.

Yes items are as follows:

        • Recycle Logic Inc Bin will take anything with an electric plug including: personal computers; laptops; components/peripherals; keyboards; mice; cables; speakers; servers; printers; fax machines; monitors; TVs; cell phones; all electric home appliances with the exception of microwaves
