The Shaganappi Community Association would like to help make everyone’s skate at Shaganappi safe and enjoyable. Prior to enjoying your time on the rink, we ask that you observe the following rules and guidelines:
The rink is provided for the use of Shaganappi Community Association members only. If you are not a current member, you can click here to purchase/renew your membership. Please note that non-residents of Shaganappi are both required and able to sign up for a membership too. Your contributions help the association and its volunteers update maintain all facilities including the tennis court, hall, basketball court, and of course the skating rink!
For the latest guidance related to COVID-19 restrictions, please refer to the provinces latest public health measures found here: https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx
In addition, to provide members with up to date information, the province has recently introduced guidelines for rinks, which unlike ours, are enclosed by boards here:
COVID-19 Guidance for Winter Recreation (alberta.ca)
Please check back to this link for updates. While this guidance doesn’t strictly apply to our open ice surface, we support the following existing provincial guidance for open outdoor rinks:
- Skating is permitted with household members only.
- Physical distancing must be observed.
- Wear a mask if physical distancing is not possible.
- Shinny with non-household members is not permitted.
- Suggested time limit for your stay is 2 hours.
If you are concerned about compliance or crowding, please contact Calgary Community Standards via 311 or Calgary Police Services (non-emergency line at 403.266.1234).
We recognize this is an unprecedented time in the world, and appreciate both your support and the respect that you continue to show to your community’s volunteers and your neighbours.
